    Claudia Chan


    College of Human Ecology '20

    Claudia Chan is a junior from Hong Kong majoring in Policy Analysis and Management and pursuing minors in Business and Law and Society. This past summer, she interned at Kerry Logistics in Shanghai as a Business Development Intern. In addition to serving as the Co-President of SWIB, Claudia is also the Chairperson of the Human Ecology Student Ambassadors and is involved in the Student Activities Funding Commission and the social sorority, Pi Beta Phi. During her free time, Claudia enjoys reading, travelling, spending time with family and exploring new restaurants in Ithaca.

    Carol is a sophomore majoring in Hotel Administration with double minors in Operations Research Engineering and Real Estate. In addition to being the Co-President of SWIB, she is the Vice President of Corporate Outreach for the Cornell Hedge Fund, a teaching assistant for HADM 2220 Finance, and a NCTTA player for the Cornell Table Tennis Team. This past summer, Carol conducted investment research for China Merchants Securities and will be exploring more opportunities in asset management in the future. In her free time, Carol enjoys traveling, reading detective novels, and exploring quaint coffee shops with friends.

    Kennedy Urban

    Kennedy is a sophomore from Pittsburgh, PA, majoring in Applied Economics and Management with a concentration in finance. This past summer, she interned at Allegheny Financial Group as an Alternative Investment Research Intern, and this summer, she will join the EY Operational Transaction Services division in NYC. On campus, she is also involved with the Cornell University Chorus, After Eight A Cappella, and her social sorority. In her free time, Kennedy enjoys spending time with friends and family and traveling.

    Jane Sniffin

    Jane Sniffin, from New York City, is a sophomore studying Applied Economics and Management with an intended concentration in Finance in the Dyson School. In addition to being the Vice President of Finance for SWIB, Jane is a member of the Cornell Investment Banking Club. Last summer, Jane worked at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a finance and analytics intern analyzing pharmaceutical spending. This upcoming summer, Jane will be interning at Deutsche Bank in the private wealth management division. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, playing golf and traveling.

    Nadine Eenkema van Dijk

    Nadine Eenkema van Dijk, from Rye, New York, is a sophomore majoring in Hotel Administration. In addition to being the Vice President of Marketing for SWIB, Nadine is also the Vice President of External Relations for the Cornell Marketing Organization and a teaching assistant for HADM 1740 Business Computing. Last summer, Nadine worked as a Marketing & Accounting intern for Serendipity Labs, a national co-working company. In her free time, Nadine enjoys traveling, playing tennis, skiing, photography, and spending time with friends and family.

    Vivian Li

    Vivian Li is a sophomore from Vancouver, Canada, majoring in Hotel Administration. In addition to being the Co-VP of Internal Development for SWIB, Vivian is also a Conference Services/Facilities Manager for HEC 94, a designer for The 180 magazine, and a TA for HADM 1410 Microeconomics. Last summer, Vivian worked for Hillhouse Capital as a PE Fund Operations Analyst in Beijing. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with friends and family, playing piano, reading, and watching movies

    Shivali Halabe

    Shivali Halabe is a freshman from Morgantown, West Virginia majoring in Operations Research and Engineering and pursuing minors in Business and Information Science. On campus, in addition to being the Co-VP of Internal Development for SWIB, Shivali is in the process of becoming a certified Spinning Instructor at the Cornell Fitness Centers. In her spare time, Shivali enjoys vegan cooking, kayaking, and nature photography.

    Sydney Goodman

    VP of On-Campus Affairs

    Sydney Goodman, from Rye Brook, New York, is a sophomore majoring in Applied Economics and Management, concentrating in Business Analytics and Finance In addition to being the Vice President of On-Campus Affairs for SWIB, Sydney is also a teaching assistant for AEM 2210 Financial Accounting and the Public Relations Chair for her sorority. Sydney is also involved in Cornell Hillel and Cornell Minds Matter. Last summer, Sydney worked as a camp counselor at Camp Ramah in the Berkshires. In her free time, Sydney enjoys photography, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

    Nicole Estess

    VP of Administration & Alumnae Affairs

    Industrial and Labor Relations '21

    Nicole Estess is a sophomore from San Diego, California majoring in Industrial and Labor Relations. In addition to SWIB, she is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management executive board, the Vice President of Facility Operations for her social sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, and in the ILR Student Government Association. On campus, she works as a student caller for the Cornell Annual Fund. In her free time, Nicole enjoys running, spending time with her family and friends, and traveling.

  • Emerging Leaders Program

    The Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is designed to introduce underclassmen to teamwork, public speaking, and presenting skills as an analyst, while also allowing upperclassmen to act as associates and have the opportunity to practice leadership skills by managing a team. Students are divided into teams based on their career interests and chose a business trend. Past presentation topics include

    • The effect of Climate Change on valuation and stocks
    •  Interest rates
    • Changing preferences in the food industry
    • Big Data
    • The Finch Industry: Its rise and profitable companies within it
    • Fashion technology
    • Smart-home technology and its impact on consumer behavior

    Join us at our Business 101 Workshop! We have invited upperclassmen to talk about different business industries, including Investment Banking, Asset/Wealth Management, Sales & Trading, Human Resources, Marketing, and Consulting. This workshop is open to all members. Hope to see you there!

    Wednesday, February 27 at 5pm

    Join us to learn our best tips for perfecting your business etiquette and honing your networking skills, from elevator pitching to cold-calling. This workshop is open to all members

    Powerpoint Workshop

    Wednesday, March 6 at 5pm

    Come learn about how to build a clean and professional slide deck! This workshop will introduce ELP members to the basics of Microsoft PowerPoint and other digital presentation tools.

    Resume and Interview Workshop

    Thursday, March 28 at 5pm

    Join us to learn solid techniques for creating or revising your resume. We will also be sharing our most effective methods of preparing for behavioral interview sessions. This workshop is open to all members!

    Excel Workshop

    Thursday, April 11 at 5pm

    Join us for an introduction to using Microsoft Excel. From keyboard shortcuts to simple functions and analytics, this workshop will teach ELP members everything they need to know to get started on their own spreadsheets.
